Lake Hart, South Australia

Lake Hart, when full, covers an area of around 16,000 hectares. It is just west of Woomera and was one of the target areas used when they were doing weapon testing there.

Lake Hart's importance as a salt deposit first came in 1918 when surveyors investigated its entire area. They estimated the
yield as three million tons, and defined the lake's area as 61 square miles.
